Over the last few years, the ‘outstanding’ and forward thinking London secondary school has grown considerably in size and popularity as a reflection of their high standards and fantastic achievements. The Challenge:
The school had a traditional and outdated Avaya phone system which wasn’t servicing the communications needs of a modern high school.
BT will be phasing out the ISDN and PSTN networks over the coming years. Villiers High School were mindful of the need to migrate from this legacy technology on their own timeframe, rather than forcibly nearer the deadline.

The Project in Brief:
Villiers High School’s existing phone system was very outdated, costly to maintain and siloed from the rest of the IT function. They needed a PBX that fit their budget, could be managed in-house and utilised unified communications features.
M-Tech proposed a virtualised 3CX telephony platform, hosted in M-Tech’s own cloud. After speaking to a number of technology solution providers, M-Tech was selected as the school’s partner on this project. The Villiers High School IT Manager worked in partnership with the M-Tech project team throughout to design a solution that met all their desired outcomes.
With many other projects on the go, Villiers opted for M-Tech to handle the decommissioning of the old system and the rollout of the new device estate. For the handset/headset rollout, three days on-site were booked in for mid-October 2020, following the remote configuration of the phone system.
