Friday 7th July saw the annual Eastbourne College Foundation Golf Challenge take place at the Royal Eastbourne Golf Club. As lead sponsor for the 8th consecutive year, M-Tech were very pleased to continue to offer their support for this important and enjoyable day.
The Golf
Friday 7th July couldn’t have got off to a more beautiful start. The glorious sunshine of the south coast was out in full swing across the downs, and stayed with us until late into the evening.
After a hearty breakfast of bacon rolls and coffee in the clubhouse, the 19 teams hit the course at 12:30pm with a shotgun start. Four hours, and all manner of colourful attire later, M-Tech were declared the winning team! It wasn’t a fix, we promise!
The Photo
Each year, before dinner, the whole group scrub up and gather outside for a commemorative photo to conclude another successful tournament. Dressed in their finest, with the sun still blazing, the teams put their best smiles forward before heading indoors to take their seats for the evening. The exceptional chefs didn’t disappoint, delivering a delightful meal to over 100 hungry golfers and their guests.
The Auction
Aside from the golf, the main event each year is the charity auction. The Foundation aims to raise money for the Peter Bibby Award, which funds a bursary for a talented local cricketer to attend Eastbourne College. From luxury food and drink, to trips away, there’s always a plethora of goodies to bid on. After our robotic vacuum cleaner prize from last year, we knew we had to match it with something equally as technologically on point. Well done to the winner of our Amazon Echo and Logitech Harmony Home Hub set! With these two items you can start building your Smart Home straight away. Integrate control of lights, locks, blinds, thermostats, sensors, home entertainment devices and more. And don’t forget to say ‘Good Morning’ to Alexa each day, you never know what you might learn!
The auction was a huge success, as always, and the total raised from the day came to over £15,000, with this figure likely to rise as more donations are confirmed.
Thanks to our fellow sponsors for being a part of this day with us. We’ll definitely be back as lead sponsors in 2018.
