M-Tech were lucky enough to get tickets to the hotly anticipated Eastbourne Airshow (Airbourne) Chamber Lunch this year. With spaces selling out in February, and the event not until August, this really is one of the most desirable dates in the Eastbourne Chamber of Commerce calendar.
135 guests arrived at the Mezzanine level of The View Hotel at midday on Friday 18th August. The floor to ceiling windows leading onto the balcony presented a great vantage point to watch the start of the day’s flying displays.
The three-course lunch was sponsored by highly-respected building contractors Colbran and Wingrove, celebrating 50 years of trading this year. The restaurant floor was beautifully decorated in the brand colours, with token hard-hat bottle openers and goodie bags for the guests.
As a great networking event, different businesses from across the town and surrounding areas had the chance to share what they do and catch up with familiar faces. This year’s chosen charity gained some great exposure too. Stephen Holt, Business Development Manager for the Chamber, expressed his thanks, “to all those who generously donated to our raffle and silent auction which raised over £1,200 for People Matter, a great local charity and members of the Chamber of Commerce.”
Following the delightful meal, guests were encouraged to use their exclusive roof passes to head to the terrace for a closer look at the air acrobatics. The Red Arrows were scheduled for 3pm, delivering a display guaranteed to thrill and amaze. From one of the highest vantage points in the town, certain manoeuvres were performed at what looked like eye-level.
First time attendees, Georgi Bruce, Operations and Tamar Keenan, Marketing, went on behalf of M-Tech and said the event exceeded their expectations. The warm welcome from the Chamber and friendly conversation with fellow businesses was matched by the incredible viewpoint for the airshow.
The next major event in the Chamber calendar is Christmas at the Grand Hotel – see you there!
